We are committed to ensuring that everything we do–from our products and services to our data privacy protocol and our company culture–is built on a foundation of safety and trust. All humans—especially young people—need safety and trust in order to thrive. We provide the scaffolding for positive and pro-social learning and growth.
Co-Creation
We believe the answer to the complex problems our young people face can't come from the 'top-down.' The most impactful ideas will emerge from co-creation between experts, educators, community members, families, and children themselves. We follow the principles of Human-Centered Design to capture nuance, identify latent needs, and make sure everyone feels their voice is heard.
Purpose, Identity, and Belonging
We imagine a world where parents, schools, and community organizations are committed to helping all young people find purpose. Purpose is protective against depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges; it strengthens identity and fosters feelings of belonging.
Contextual Diversity
We know every family is different because we talk to dozens of them every week. There are infinite combinations of socio-economic situations, cultural backgrounds, familial values, parenting approaches, and children’s maturity levels. We envision a future where families feel understood and supported throughout their journey, yet retain autonomy to make informed decisions.
Right-Relationship to Tech
We acknowledge that technology is a necessary part of our modern life, and are deeply grateful for the incredible advantages it has afforded us. Our focus is in helping young people and their families develop and maintain right-relationship to these technologies, as a tool rather than as a master.
Magic and Ritual
We are deeply convinced that cultivating a sense of magic and playfulness is essential to enable meaningful experiences that captivate a child's curiosity away from a screen. Rituals and initiation journeys, open to all faiths or none, are time-tested tools to deepen a sense of purposeful identity and instill new habits.
